We are Mothers is a podcast that allows listeners and contributors alike to dig deeper into our identity as women through the journey of motherhood.
Motherhood is a transformative process. And like every deep process, going through it can be, well, let’s just say ‘challenging.’ Sometimes we fall apart. Sometimes we are elated. Sometimes we are covered in poop and vomit. Sometimes we are covered in kisses and love. Sometimes we feel like we’ve lost ourselves, and then, suddenly we feel as though we have become the truest and most beautiful version of ourselves.
Brene Brown says “loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do.” I believe at the core to becoming better people, better partners, and better parents is to be open to our own stories, and the stories of others. In the telling and in the listening we unwrap and enrich. We become part of something bigger. We support others and receive support in return. We build stronger foundations in ourselves, and in our tribe. We also open up to the possibility of evolving out of these stories and into new ones.
